Reese & Anthony’s wedding was by far the most emotional, real and raw wedding we have ever shot. Before I let you hear from Reese and her story (which is way better!) Here was my take:
We didn’t meet Reese & Anthony until their big day. The moment that I met Reese she just ran up to me and gave me the biggest hug (like we have known each other for years!) She was so calm and mello and just a go with the flow kind of bride.
She gave the most thoughtful gift to Anthony (the groom) It was his fathers memorial flag that she had framed for him. You can feel the emotion in those photos. The ceremony and the vows that they had said to each other, their was not a dry eye there. We went off to this super cool old bridge to take their romantics photos and we had so much fun. The videographers (Rora Film Co.) were so awesome as well. We all laughed and danced like we have been friends for years.
After Reese & Anthony had their grand entrance they had a girls VS. guys flip cup game. Whichever team won either the girls would get to go eat first or the guys, and guess who won? OH YA the girls! ( such a fun group of people)
Your family and friends, the speeches, absolutely everything about your wedding was so amazing to shoot! Thank you for letting us capture and tell your story and sharing your real story with us. We love you guys and we can’t wait for this new adventure for you both!
Now here is Reese and her story.
“Like many, Anthony and I met in college. I was an inspired freshmen and he was a cool junior. I was way ahead of the times and “coffeemeetsbagel-ing” on my own by browsing through a mutual friend’s facebook “friends” when I noticed a cute guy with a great smile. It led to a casual Mario Kart dorm room meet up and at first, I was shy and not interested, but lucky for me, he was persistent and worked his charm. After a memorable first date, I was just so lovable that he could not get me out of his head…so here we are 12 years later! Not only does he bring calm to my organized chaos, but he brings out the best in me, and I simply couldn’t imagine what life would be today without him.
A few years ago, a routine visit to the doctor changed our lives forever. A million scans and tests later, we were told the devastating news. The diagnosis was all too real, and I felt like my world came crashing down on me. The plans we had carefully mapped out for our future seemed to disappear in an instant. Through many difficult nights, I depended on Anthony to shoulder my burdens. Instead of running away, he showed me kindness, patience, and unconditional love by promising to stand and walk beside me through everything, even the ugly. Everything felt unsteady, except for the love and support he gave me each day. After what seemed to be an eternity of tears, grief, and recovery, we were finally hopeful for the future as a fighter and a survivor.
Our wedding day was a beautiful intimate celebration, surrounded by fifty of our closest family and friends. There was only love there, and anyone who was near felt it. The most treasured moment from the wedding was before we walked down the aisle. My sweet in-laws had given me permission to frame and gift Anthony’s late father’s memorial flag. His reaction was so raw and so real, even thinking about it today makes me emotional. It was important to me that he knew his dad was with him on our wedding day, and that he would be with us every day moving forward. The day was perfect, and I got to marry the love of my life! Through tough times, I saw the best side of Anthony, and I know that together, we can overcome anything life throws at us. ”
